Product details

CLAVAMOXY DS ORAL SUSPENSION is an antibiotic formulation specifically optimized for children. It contains Amoxycillin with a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect and Clavulanic Acid, which inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes. With this dual mechanism of action, it efficaciously manages a wide variety of infections in children, including respiratory infections, otitis media, sinusitis, urinary tract infections, or even skin infections. Key Benefits: Delivers sufficient antibacterial coverage for a myriad of infections. Clavulanic Acid augments Amoxycillin’s activity by preventing resistance from Acinetobacter spp. Effective in treating respiratory tract infections as well as urinary infections in children. Pediatric friendly formulation with a good taste to improve compliance. Quicker recovery and faster, effective alleviation of symptoms. How Does It Work: Amoxycillin, being a penicillin antibiotic, works by destroying the bacteria cell wall leading to its death. However, some bacteria synthesize an enzyme beta-lactamase that would nullify the effects of Amoxycillin. Inhibiting this enzyme, Clavulanic Acid saves Amoxycillin and helps it get the job done more effectively. Together, they provide combined synergistic action against stubborn bacteria. Directions for Use: Shake the bottle well before each use. Use the measuring spoon or cup provided to ensure accurate dosing. As directed by the pediatrician, the dosage should be given according to the child’s weight and age. Given with food may lessen the risk of upset stomach. To avoid bacterial resistance, complete the full course even if the child feels better. Side Effects: Common side effects may include mild diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, or rash. Children may infrequently have allergic reactions such as itching or swelling. If severe side effects arise like persistent diarrhea or difficulty breathing, inform the doctor immediately. Make sure to consult the pediatrician regarding any unusual symptoms during the treatment.
