Product details

CLAVAMOXY LS ORAL SUSPENSION is a pediatric antibiotic formulation designed to treat various bacterial infections in children. It combines Amoxycillin, a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic, with Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor that enhances Amoxycillin’s effectiveness. This combination provides powerful protection against bacteria that have developed resistance to standard antibiotics. It is commonly prescribed for respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin infections, and ear infections in children. Key Ingredients Amoxycillin (200mg) A widely used penicillin-type antibiotic that fights bacteria by inhibiting their cell wall synthesis. Effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Clavulanic Acid (28.5mg) A beta-lactamase inhibitor that prevents bacterial enzymes from breaking down Amoxycillin. Broadens the spectrum of antibacterial activity. Sterile Water for Injections IP (30 ml) Acts as a solvent to reconstitute the dry powder before administration. Ensures accurate dosing and safe oral delivery. Key Benefits Provides a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect suitable for a variety of infections. Especially effective in treating infections caused by beta-lactamase producing bacteria. Formulated as a liquid suspension, making it easy to administer to infants and children. Offers fast relief from symptoms like fever, pain, and inflammation related to infections. Helps prevent the recurrence of infections by eliminating the root cause. How Does It Work? CLAVAMOXY LS ORAL SUSPENSION works through a dual mechanism: Amoxycillin interferes with the bacteria's ability to form cell walls, leading to the breakdown and death of the bacteria. Clavulanic Acid prevents the bacteria from producing beta-lactamase enzymes, which are responsible for resisting many antibiotics. Together, they make a potent combination that overcomes antibiotic resistance and ensures effective treatment. Directions for Use Shake the bottle well before each use to ensure uniform suspension. Administer the prescribed dose using a measuring spoon or syringe provided with the medication. Dosage should be based on body weight and the severity of infection, as directed by a pediatrician. It is usually taken every 8 or 12 hours, depending on the child’s medical condition. Complete the full course even if the child starts feeling better to prevent bacterial resistance. Store the reconstituted suspension in a refrigerator and use within the specified time frame (typically 7 days). Do not freeze and keep it out of reach of children. Side Effects Diarrhea – commonly due to changes in gut bacteria. Nausea or vomiting – especially if taken on an empty stomach. Skin rash or itching – may indicate an allergic reaction. Abdominal pain or bloating – usually mild and temporary. Thrush (oral fungal infection) – may occur with prolonged use. Severe allergic reactions (rare) – such as difficulty breathing or swelling of face/lips should be reported immediately.
